Chinese Feminism Toronto stands firm in our support of the Palestinian people’s fight for liberation and decolonization, and their right to resist settler colonialism and white supremacy.

We join forces with our partners and allies in calling for an immediate ceasefire to stop the ongoing occupation, apartheid, and genocide led by Israel.

Over the past 75 years, we have witnessed Israel’s occupation, genocide, apartheid, and colonization of the Palestinian people. We have also witnessed the steadfast struggle of Palestinian feminists in their quest for liberation from colonial rule. In the words of Grace Lee Boggs, “A rebellion is something that is developing as an explosion coming out of the righteous grievances of a community of people.”

We must emphasize that anti-Zionism should not be equated with anti-Semitism. We condemn the fact that mainstream media has been perpetuating this harmful conflation of Palestinian liberation with anti-Semitism, influenced by Western Zionist propaganda and the spread of false information.

We urge our fellow scholars and academic institutions to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people. We support the BDS movement advocating for a boycott of Israeli academic and cultural institutions.

We denounce any efforts to intimidate or silence pro-Palestine individuals and assert our right to speak out.

We stress that Palestine is a queer/feminist issue. Palestinian feminists have fought tirelessly for their liberation at the local level while contributing to transnational feminist movements. We stand united with Palestinian feminists and decolonial feminists across the globe.

As Chinese queer/feminists, we are working towards a world free from violence, white supremacy, transphobia, ableism, and many other forms of oppression. We reiterate our support of the Palestinian people’s fight for liberation.

FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA, PALESTINE WILL BE FREE.

Chinese Feminism Toronto
